Nicole Atkins- Mondo Amore

One of my favorite artists in the last few years is Nicole Atkins. Walking the line between psychedelic, 60s crooner music, and blues Nicole’s voice is unmistakably unique. Mondo Amore is dramatic, moody, and less grandiose than her masterpiece debut album Neptune City but Nicole’s voice shines through more than ever. Listen to “Hotel Plaster” and “Heavy Boots”. For old goodies listen to “Neptune City”, “Maybe Tonight”, and “The Way It Is”.

What i was amazed with are the vignettes created around the album release. Check out the video series titled “Metal and Memories”

The narrative that the black-caped Atkins becomes immersed in here “plays on the Robert Johnson, Devil at the Crossroads legend where a Faustian bargain is struck — a deal is made with the Devil and the soul is exchanged for other-worldly musical abilities,” Biseti said.

The first video is below!
